DIONYSOS CLUB is in the center of Vatera with a panoramic
view of the Aegean Sea. Vatera is situated between these gulfs of Gera and
Kalloni in the north part of the island of Lesvos, 55 Km from the capital
Mytilene.
The beach of Vatera is 12 Km long and is considered to be
one of the best beaches of Europe. Proof of this is that has been awarded the EC
Blue Flag for many years now. The beach is ideal for sunbathing and there are
even some sections for nudists. The crystal clear waters attract those
interested in water sports, ranging from wind surfing, diving, boating and so
on. The cape of Agios Fokas offers a trully magnificent sunset and one can visit
the ancient temple of Dionysos from which the Campsite got its name.
The Campsite which is surrounded by a brick fence, 2 m.
high, covers an areaof 2 hectares and has supervised entrances and exits for
nthe safety of our Guests. The tent sites have ample natural shade and there is
a variety of trees, flowers and plants.. Each site has an electric socket (220
Volts). Water coolers and drinking water are available as well as toilets and
showers with hot water. There is also a designated buildingfor cooking, equipped
with hot plates and sinks for the washing-up. A laundry is also available for
the washing and ironing. A First Aid station and a doctor are at your disposal.
Sites for caravans are also available with more facilities, electricity,, water
and sewage disposal.
For those who do not wish toi stay in a tent there are
rooms with hotel services as well as apartments.
DIONYSOS CLUB has a fully equipped Market as well as a restaurant-tavern with
traditional Greek food, European cuisine and take away.
There is also a swimming pool for our Guests. Next to the
pool there is a cafeteria and bar that are open all day. If the Guests so wish
Greek nights and various parties can be arranged. The reception where English is
spoken is equipped with telephone booths, Post Box, Fax and Computer. Safety
Deposit Boxes are also available and money and travelers cheques can be
excxhanged. Those interested in walking can explore the forest near the
Campsite. Boat excursions can also be organized to various parts of the island.
